Fresh Eyes 2, Miranda's second book, looks back at life lessons which taught her how to overcome adversity and rest in God's Word, all the while maintaining a sense of perspective and humor. The reminisces on experiences the author, had which guided her through life and which helped her become resilient in the face of adversity. Using short essays and poetry, the book offers the reader a glimpse into her heart. Readers are encouraged to journey with the author while looking back at their own experiences. Dr. Smalls poses questions to jog the readers' memory and they are encouraged to jot down their responses. The book asserts that there is value in looking back, invites readers to look at everyday experiences in fresh, new ways and to understand that every experience is a lesson learned, and a daily blessing from God. Miranda Smalls is passionate about God, family, and education. She is keen on infusing the wisdom and knowledge that comes from the Scriptures in those around her. A native of Queens, New York, Miranda served as Director of Christian Education in her church for more than 20 years, and has been teaching Sunday school for twice as long. Her zest for knowledge led her to successfully earn a doctoral degree in education from Concordia University in Chicago, Illinois. Miranda's love for people, especially young people, charted her career path early on. After a brief stint in the public and private sectors, she worked for several years as a high school teacher and college advisor, and currently serves as an adjunct professor of English at a local college.
