A young woman awakes in a hospital morgue in London. She climbs from the body bag in which she is encased and walks away. She has no heartbeat, no breath, no capacity to eat. Strangled by her violent boyfriend earlier, she died. She is still dead. In the far north-western corner of England, a mysterious cloud with no measurable substance appears over an area where Earth energies converge. And there it sits, day after day, never changing, just menacing. As reporters and tourists gather to witness the strange phenomenon, paranormal researchers work feverishly to discover what the cloud is and why it has appeared in this particular spot. Desperate to explain what has happened to her, the young woman sets off on a long journey north, hoping to consult with the paranormal experts. However, much like the cloud, they are not what they seem. And as she starts to realise just what they are capable of, she wonders if she has made the worst mistake of her existence. But there's no escape. In a few days, an eclipse will plunge the area into darkness. And if the cloud is allowed to realise its full potential, then horror on an apocalyptic scale will be unleashed across the Earth. It must be stopped. But at what cost?
