Welches sachliche Band die hier vorliegenden Abhandlungen verknüpft sagt wohl dem Kundigen ein Blick auf die Ueber schriften. Der Zusammenschluss liegt in den drei Arbeiten über die Skepsis. Das nahe Verhältniss der Skepsis zu Protagoras ist längst im Allgemeinen anerkannt, doch im Einzelnen noch keines wegs hinreichend erforscht. Auf ihre kaum minder engen Be ziehungen zu Demokrit Epikur ist man seit kürzerer Zeit erst aufmerksam geworden; in dieser Richtung dürften am ehesten neue Aufschlüsse erwartet werden.
