English summary: These translated texts (French) bring together some of the most important authors of the turn of the century Viennese school of art history and the Circle of Prague. They demonstrate the decisive influence of esthetic formalism in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and specifically the reaction against German idealism and romanticism. What emerges is the effort to make esthetics into a science as part of the debate between natural and social sciences at the time. French description: Traduits ici pour la premiere fois en francais, les textes presentes dans cette anthologie s'inscrivent dans ce qu'on peut appeler la voie autrichienne de la modernite. Ils constituent l'un des terreaux de l'Ecole viennoise d'histoire de l'art et du Cercle de Prague. L'influence decisive du formalisme esthetique issu de Bernard Bolzano et de Johann Friedrich Herbart dans la seconde moitie du XIXe siecle en Europe centrale, notamment a Vienne chez Robert Zimmermann et Eduard Hanslick mais aussi a Prague chez Josef Durdik et Otakar Hostinsk'y, s'exerce encore au debut du XXe siecle chez des auteurs comme Otakar Zich et Emil Utitz. Realiste, refusant a la fois Kant et Hegel, ce formalisme esthetique se construit contre l'idealisme et le romantisme allemands en s'appuyant sur la psychologie scientifique de son temps et en pronant l'exactitude contre l'extravagance de la chwarmerei. Il voudrait faire de l'esthetique une science et participe ainsi du debat entre sciences de la nature et sciences de l'esprit qui traverse le XIXe siecle et qui se poursuit, sous des formes nouvelles, aujourd'hui, dans le champ de l'esthetique.
