This is the first of a multi-volume work planned to cover the vocabulary of genuine Manichaean texts recovered from Egypt, North Africa and Central Asia, as well as those citations of Manichaen texts found in the Church Fathers and in Islamic writers which are generally regarded by scholars as authentic. The first of the two main purposes of the 'Dictionary' is to help to locate the words in the texts.
