Omschrijving

Little Wandle Code provides effective reading intervention for students in early Key Stage 3. This proven program--featuring ten age-appropriate, leveled, fully decodable anthologies and three workbooks--supports students who are not meeting age-related expectations when they begin secondary school.

The Start the Code Student Workbook is a key component of the Little Wandle Code program and is used by students during reading intervention lessons. It is designed for learners who may have gaps in their phonics knowledge--gaps that may sometimes be masked by coping strategies.

Students work through the workbook during intervention sessions to secure their phonics understanding and build confidence through consistent, carefully structured activities.

Each session includes:

Introduction of focus graphemes
Curriculum words to learn
Summary sections with opportunities for review and self-reflection
End-of-unit tasks that encourage students to apply their phonics knowledge to create new words

Each workbook also contains a tricky words grid, a You as a Reader survey, a pathway chart, and a glossary.

The workbooks are fully integrated into the Little Wandle Code program and are supported by teacher notes and instructional slides available through the Little Wandle Code subscription.
