Le corpus planétaire de Claire Chevrier ne doit s'entrevoir que dans la recherche inutile d'îlots colorés dans des zones opaques. Les îlots colorés, les tâches, sont les bricolages et les petites résistances qui échappent aux lois statistiques, aux planifications, aux intérêts. Ces petits objets visuels sont en fait les traces dessinées dans le paysage par des populations qui ont su adapter leur vision et leur approche de l'environnement urbain.

Le passé n'est plus qu'un arrière-plan sans références et seules les proximités familiale, clanique, tribale sont à même de les soustraire des formes nouvelles d'autant plus hallucinatoires que la vie sans soleil trouble la vue.

Claire Chevrier's global oeuvre can be seen as the fruitless search for islands of colour in opaque areas. These islands of colour, these patches, are the makeshift adaptations and small instances of resistance that elude statistics, planning, financial interests.

These small visual objects are, in effect, marks made on the landscape by people who have adapted their view of and approach to the urban environment.

The past is merely a background devoid of references and only family, clan and tribal ties are able to draw from it new forms all the more hallucinatory as life without the sun clouds the gaze.

L'opera globale di Claire Chevrier si ravvisa nella ricerca infruttuosa di isole di colore all'interno di corpi opachi. I blocchi colorati, le macchie, sono gli adattamenti e le piccole resistenze che sfuggono alla statistica, alla pianificazione, alle speculazioni.

Questi piccoli oggetti visuali costituiscono in effetti le tracce disegnate nel paesaggio da coloro che hanno saputo trasformare la propria visione dell'ambiente urbano.

Il passato non è ormai che uno sfondo privo di riferimenti e solo i legami familiari, clanici, tribali sono in grado di trarne forme nuove, tanto più allucinatorie quanto più la vita senza sole annebbia lo sguardo.
