'Chasing Rainbows' is Richard Maitland's sixth book of poetry; and the penultimate book of the series. Long conversations with himself, is how he thinks of them. Opposites playing a major role in their development; and afterwards: revision, revision, revision. Until, with the help of friendly critics, the task is complete. But no sooner finished than the urge to begin again dictates the way ahead.
In its own way it's a kind of meditation. No distractions from the outside world, although they do intrude as a necessity, and by doing so can trigger the imagination into revealing connotations and other associations. Are we ever sealed off from the World all together?
