Un regain d'intérêt pour les oeuvres de Césaire d'Arles apparaît sur les cinq continents. C'est ainsi que nous présentons dans ce Tome I, vingt-cinq communications venues de huit pays différents, témoins de cette curiosité renouvelée.

Des universitaires du bout du monde, un Américain et un Russe, une Écossaise et un Congolais, un religieux et un philologue, un sociologue et un historien sans compter les archéologues de notre Provence, y ont collaboré, unis par leur recherche commune. Vingt-deux nouvelles contributions venues d'origine géographiques aussi diverses attendent pour le Tome II, dont nous projetons la publication, au printemps ou à l'été 2018.

We have recently seen a strong revival of interest in the works of Caesarius of Arles on each of the five continents. The twenty-five articles included in the present Volume I of our series bear witness to this renewal, coming as they do from scholars in eight countries.

United by a common enthusiasm for their subject, our authors include academics from the USA, Russia, Scotland and the Congo along with a priest, a philologist, a sociologist and a historian, and not forgetting the contributions of several archaeologists from our own Provence. Volume II to be published in the first half of 2018 will contain a further twenty-two articles by scholars from an equally wide geographical spectrum.
