I live with my forever person now, but when I was a very tiny kitten a man threw me into a box then tossed me near a blue metal bin as big as a house. I was taken to a noisy place that was cold and busy where animals waited for our forever homes. I waited and waited. People came and went. New kittens came and went. One day, a woman with a bright smile walked into the room full of cages. I had to get closer. I climbed up a thick stick that leant against the mesh. She came straight to me.Her hand reached for me. I purred. 'I want this one, ' she said. She chose me and I chose her. She came into the cage and got me herself without waiting for the rescue people. If I had known then that our life together would have catnip and catastrophes ... I would still have chosen her, and she would still have chosen me. That's what a forever home is.
