Casino Summer is a richly atmospheric literary novel set in a regional casino in the Ardeche region in France in 1972. Jemma, a young Australian woman finds herself entangled in a world far more complex than she has ever experienced.

With Jean-Luc playing nightly as a member of the casino band, Jemma becomes both insider and outsider, captivated by the glamour of the casino's public face, the terrace cafe, the dance hall and the gaming hall, the nearby river glinting in the heat - but soon becomes unsettled by what lies behind it: the silences, the unspoken bargains that bind the Bernard family together.

Over one transformative summer, Jemma must navigate love, loyalty and the subtle pressures of an unfamiliar world.
