This book involves a unique synthesis of Science and Engineering with respect to Bridge Aerodynamics. The fundamentals of Wind-Induced Vibrations influencing the Cable-Stayed Bridges were presented. The aeroelastic phenomenon Inclined Cable Galloping was investigated with advanced experimental, analytical and numerical approaches. Two main parts can be distinguished into the book. The first one includes studying of the experimental data based on wind-tunnel tests and full scale bridge observations. The second part is related to the theoretical representation and justification of the phenomenon, and includes identification of the aeroelastic phenomenon, assumption of the excitation mechanism, formulation of analytical and mathematical models, establishment of a computational model, and performance of numerical analysis. Based on the comparison of the experimental and numerical analysis results important theoretical conclusions were derived. As prevention for Cable-Stayed Bridges, basic practical methods for mitigation of Wind-Induced Vibrations were described. The book is recommended not only for Research Academics and but also for Professional Engineers.
