Pastor Regina Sloan of Better Days Ministries endures internal conflict when an old flame makes an unexpected appearance at their son's wedding. The future of her ministry hangs in the balance as she gradually comes to terms with her identity as a woman. Dr. Edna Brooks, the other half of Better Days, has been at the forefront of Sloan's life for many years. She demands a "moral commitment" from Regina. The essence of their friendship is brought into question when they decide to undergo the ancient rite of adelphopoiia. A new billboard for Better Days places the founders under public scrutiny. Sloan has optioned to use a photo commemorating their "sister-making" ceremony. Many view the advertisement as a platform for the couple to come out. Sloan, however, insists that theirs is a "bond of faith and not nature". But there are bigger fish to fry at the Eno Women's Clinic headed by Dr. Brooks. Nadia Simpson is desperate to have a child and turns to an African spiritualist to resolve her problem. Brooks is concerned, having ministered to the young woman unsuccessfully. Matters take a turn for the worse when Nadia falls gravely ill. Meanwhile, Antonia is adjusting to her new life with Reginald, the minister's son.
