Pour Auston Matthews, qui est né à San Ramon, en Californie, et qui a grandi à Scottsdale, en Arizona, le hockey aurait pu sembler être un choix de carrière peu probable. Mais il est tombé amoureux de ce sport dès son plus jeune âge, et son talent naturel s'est rapidement révélé.

Après avoir participé au programme de développement de l'équipe nationale de hockey des États-Unis et joué une seule saison dans la première ligue professionnelle suisse, Auston a été repêché en première position par les Maple Leafs de Toronto et a fait ses débuts dans la LNH peu après son 19e anniversaire.

Au cours des neuf saisons qu'il a jouées dans la LNH jusqu'à présent, Auston a accumulé les records, les prix et les récompenses, en particulier pour sa capacité à marquer des buts, beaucoup de buts!

Born in San Ramon, California, and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, hockey might seem like an unlikely career choice for Auston Matthews. But he fell in love with the sport at a young age, and his natural talent was quickly apparent.

After participating in USA Hockey's National Team Development Program and playing a single season in the top Swiss pro league, Auston was drafted first overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs and made his NHL debut shortly after his nineteenth birthday.

In his career in the NHL, Auston has racked up records, awards and accolades, especially for his ability to score goals -- lots of them!

As the Maple Leafs continue their quest for the Stanley Cup, Auston Matthews is leading the charge.
