Francis Tassaux a été professeur d'archéologie romaine à l'université Bordeaux Montaigne, rattaché au laboratoire Ausonius. Spécialiste du monde romain, fin connaisseur de la Gaule comme de l'Adriatique, il est à l'origine d'une bibliographie portant tant sur l'architecture antique que le commerce ou l'occupation du sol. Son oeuvre marque le paysage scientifique européen. Doté de remarquables qualités humaines, il a su s'agréger de nombreuses collaborations et créer un véritable réseau scientifique. Cet ouvrage est l'occasion pour quelques-uns de ses nombreux collègues et amis de lui rendre hommage. La diversité des thèmes abordés témoigne de la multitude de ses centres d'intérêt.
Francis Tassaux was a professor of Roman archaeology at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, attached to the Ausonius laboratory. Expert of the Roman world, a fine connoisseur of Gaul as of the Adriatic, he is at the origin of a bibliography on antique architecture, trade and land use. His work has left his mark on the European scientific landscape. Endowed with remarkable human qualities, he has been able to combine numerous collaborations and create agenuine scientific network. This collection is the occasion for some of his many colleagues and friends to pay tribute to him. The diversity of addressed themes reflects the multitude of his interests.
