Begomoviruses, of family Geminiviridae, are whitefly transmitted viruses which cause diseases in many dicotyledonous crops including important vegetables and weeds in the tropics and subtropics. They consist circular single strand DNA (monopartite: DNA-A, or bipartite: DNA-A and DNA-B) genome. Keeping in view the economic importance of Jatropha species and the disease caused by begomoviruses, biological and molecular studies have been done for characterization and identification of begomovirus causing mosaic disease in Jatropha species. This is the original work and publishing as a text book entitled "Begomovirus Diseases on Jatropha species from India". In this book reviews various studies carried out till date in order to understand the biological and molecular characteristic of begomovirus isolates/species.
