THE ARTISTS Philip Martin was born in 1952 and raised in Brighton. He went to Jesus College, Cambridge from 1972 to 1976 where he studied architecture. Glyn Martin, was born in 1955 and studied art at the University of East Anglia in Norwich Both of them began selling their work whilst still at school, but In 1983 they joined forces and formed Cambrooke Fine Art Publishers to publish and market a series of limited edition prints - topographical watercolour paintings of Britain's towns, cities and sites. Over the years the series grew to about 1500 different images and was marketed under the title of Portraits of Britain. They have also completed similar collections of prints in the USA, France, Holland, Belgium, and Ireland.
THE PICTURE All scenes in the picture are painted from actual locations. The collage has been assembled from existing prints especially for this jigsaw puzzle, and is not available elsewhere. For the curious, the publishers have added place names to enable identification of the parts of Britain that have been illustrated.
