Baxter is an Omani Mau (Mau means street cat in Arabic), born as a stray cat in Muscat, Oman. Being a street cat is a pretty tough life, so he was lucky to be found by his family at only four weeks old, barely alive and hungry. His human parents, Emily and Bruce, fell in love with his giant ears and spotted tummy, taking him in to give him lots of food and love. A few years later, Emily and Bruce moved the whole family to Houston, Texas - bringing Baxter and his best friend, their Omani dog, Petra, with them. Though Baxter has a very comfortable life indoors, he loves being outside. His favorite things include climbing trees, playing fetch, going on walks, chasing squirrels, making friends with neighboring pets, and eating everything he can get his paws on.
