Numerous museums and branches of large galleries have taken root in the metropolis. Art Hong Kong, Asia's most important contemporary art fair to date, has belonged to Art Basel since May 2011. Art Basel in Hong Kong 2013 will feature more than 250 exhibitors from around the globe and will present an impressive spectrum of contemporary works of art, with more than fifty percent of the galleries coming from Asia and the Pacific Ocean coastal regions. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, photographs, editions, and videos from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries by around two thousand artists will be on display.
