Since the time of the Great Sundering eons ago, Terra has been cut off from the Fae realms of Ljós and Myrkur. The Elemental Seals that protected them are now weakening, and the barriers between the realms are fading.

Bedwyr, a young Briton warrior consumed with blood lust to avenge his family's slaughter by invading Saxons, is brought to the Fae realm in a race against time to thwart the Dark Fae from enslaving all realms.

Joining the quest with Bedwyr is an intrepid group of three companions, including Emrhys, a troubled prince from a tribe of giant warriors; Alantir, a skilled archer and young woodland elf who has also lost her family to tragedy wrought by the Dark Fae; and Vaelwyn, one of the few remaining Prime Adepti of the Álfur—the most powerful conjurer seen by the Light Fae in ages.

Within the White Henge at the center of Ljós, Vaelwyn performs an ancient ritual that awakens latent magical powers within Bedwyr and Alantir. This ritual also activates their enchanted amulets, enabling them to call upon the power of the ancient Elementals. The companions, challenged by resurgent Dark Fae, must travel to Terra to perform a ritual at dawn on the start of the winter solstice. Only this ritual will halt the spread of Shadow; if they fail, Shadow will grow, and all realms will be corrupted forever. And the Dark Fae are waiting for them …
