Southeast part of Bangladesh is important for agricultural condition and disaster management system in coastal region with different ethnic groups. The aim is to assess farmer s vernacular knowledge on agricultural dynamics and local knowledge on disaster management in Bandarban and Cox s Bazar. The study mainly based on primary data with different methods like questionnaire, in-depth survey, observation where samplings techniques used as random and stratified (sample size 400) and data are analyzed by simple exploratory statistical analysis. The study also deals with the demographic condition, agricultural pattern, irrigation methods, harvesting methods, farmer s preference, crops dynamics, causes limitations, soil types and salinity intrusion. Their perception about natural disaster and adaption strategy by the local people which includes types of disasters-natural and human induced, most frequent disaster, causes, severity, measures are taken at pre- disaster, during disaster, post disaster period and mitigation strategies. It is important to developed adaptation and mitigation strategy with indigenously and took proper planning for them by participatory process.
