Czech painter, designer and decorator, Alfons Mucha (1860-1939) is one of the founding figures of the Art Nouveau movement. Theater posters, advertising illustrations, art objects and everyday items were all supports for his prolific ornamental compositions, whose pure lines and interlacing naturalist motifs definitively established the Mucha style in the history of decorative arts.
