Le catalogue « Abu Bakarr Mansaray » accompagne l'exposition éponyme présentée à la Cité des sciences et de l'industrie. Il constitue la première monographie consacrée à ce peintre, dessinateur et sculpteur né en Sierra Leone en 1969. Outre les neuf dessins et les deux sculptures réunis dans l'exposition, l'ouvrage contient d'autres créations de l'artiste inspirées par le chaos de la guerre civile qui a ravagé son pays. Et, dépassant la supposée extravagance de ses engins et leur proximité avec les créations d'autres artistes inventeurs de véhicules spatiaux, Gérard Azoulay, responsable de l'Observatoire de l'Espace du Centre national d'études spatiales, suggère, à la croisée de la science et de l'imaginaire, que Mansaray « a passé un pacte avec des non-humains ».

The « Abu Bakarr Mansaray » catalogue accompanies the exhibition of the same name presented at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie. It is the first monograph dedicated to this painter, illustrator and sculptor born in Sierra Leone in 1969. Along with the nine drawings and two sculptures on show at the exhibition, this book contains other creations by the artist inspired by the chaos of his country's devastating civil war. The works come from the Jean Pigozzi Collection of African Art.
