This edition of A Course in Miracles is known as the Original Edition, reflecting the revision originally undertaken by Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford and completed in 1972. The manuscript underlying this edition was rediscovered in 1999 and first published in 2006 by the Course in Miracles Society (CIMS). The Course is presented in three parts: the Text, the Workbook for Students, and the Manual for Teachers.
The Workbook for Students consists of 365 lessons designed to be practiced daily. Its purpose is to retrain the mind and gently heal perception through the consistent application of the Course’s principles. The Manual for Teachers provides guidance for those who feel called to deepen their understanding through teaching, addressing common questions and clarifying the nature of the teacher-student relationship.
This eBook edition presents both the Workbook and the Manual for Teachers as they appear in the Original Edition, restoring passages that were later removed or altered and preserving the original order of the material. Many students find that studying these sections in their original form brings new insight and a more grounded experience of the Course’s practice.
