She left the country years ago with her first husband, but returned on a mission for the British government that went badly wrong. She was caught, imprisoned and beaten.Jack saved Lilia from the prison and married her. He is an ex-soldier, but still operates as a military advisor, assisting in 'think tanks'.Lilia belongs to a group called 'Speakers for Syria', a team of mainly women promoting the plight of the country and the need for change. She is one of their keynote speakers, representing the group at conferences and exhibitions all over Europe and occasionally further afield.Jasim thinks Lilia belittles the Syrian situation, and generally does not enjoy hearing anyone criticising the country.
