Le réseau « Equestrian Educational Network » (EEN) réunit de prestigieux établissements de formation en équitation dans les pays suivants : Grande-Bretagne, Allemagne, Autriche, Belgique, Pays-Bas, Portugal, Suède, Norvège, Finlande et France.

Les échanges entre enseignants/entraîneurs et stagiaires de ces pays ont fait émerger la nécessité d'un outil de travail commun, d'où la création de cet ouvrage coordonné par l'Institut Français du Cheval et de l'Equitation, et notamment les formateurs du Cadre noir de Saumur.
