Jesus Loves a Hillbilly My name is Robert Curtis Burns but everyone calls me Bobby. I'm also known as the Humbled Hillbilly... I was forced to retire at 52 years of age from the State of Tennessee. In the last two years I've had a ruptured disk in my back, a collapsed lung and stage 4 cancer. I am cancer free now but my back is in bad shape, which is why I retired so early. That's also the reason I've had time to write this book! My life growing up was spent in the hills of Tennessee. During that time I spent most of my young life in the hills around my house. It was just God and I deep in the woods day after day. I would spend most of my time outdoors. My mother would sometimes have to come find me sleeping in the yard, just to wake me up to go to school. I can still remember lying on the ground and watching the stars. I've seen some amazing things that can't be explained! What I'm trying to tell you is that I've spent a lot of time alone with God. I knew He was there but I had no understanding of who He was, back then. But we would talk, mostly because a lot of times, He was the only one there. I still talk to Him every day and night. We've become very close friends! Please believe me, I haven't been a saint. I have sinned as much, if not more than anyone that reads this book. I've even encouraged others to do the same. But looking back, it taught me (the hard way) what's really important in life and that the Word of God is Real and Alive! But what an adventure it's been! God has given me a gift to write poetry with real revelation of His word and of the life we each live. He has also choose to give me life experiences and visitation in which I've shared within the pages of this book...
